*** Access to Justice Hearings Tonight — Pueblo & Grand Junction
The Colorado Access to Justice Commission, in cooperation with local Access to Justice Committees, is conducting statewide hearings on the successes and opportunities for improvement in meeting the legal needs of poor people in Colorado. Tonight, hearings in Pueblo and Grand Junction will host state legislators, Colorado Bar Association members and other leaders of the community. They will hear presentations and testimony regarding the met and unmet legal needs of low-income people in Colorado, including the specific needs of individual communities. The CBA–YLD’s Annual CLE Conference, “Avoiding Mistakes in all the Right Places,” will be Thursday, Nov. 15, at the University of Colorado Law School in Boulder. *** Financial Powers of Attorney Seminar
The CBA and the El Paso County Bar Association Probate Section are sponsoring a financial powers of attorney seminar, “Scandals, Agent Selection & Solutions” on Nov. 9, 8:30 a.m.–4 p.m., at the District Court of El Paso County in Colorado Springs, 270 S. Tejon St. This event is recommended for general practitioners and estate-planning attorneys. Early registration is $49 and walk-ins will be $59. Six CLE credits and 2.5 ethics credits. *** Paralegals and the New Colorado Rules of Professional Conduct
The CBA Paralegal Committee will host a CLE ethics program for attorneys and paralegals on Thursday, Nov. 1, 5:30 p.m., at the CBA Offices, 1900 Grant St., ninth floor, in Denver. Nancy L. Cohen of the Colorado Supreme Court Office of Attorney Regulation Counsel will be the featured speaker. The program includes one CLE ethics credit and a boxed sandwich or salad meal.
