There's nothing stronger than the heart of a volunteer.

(Dec. 7 marks the 66th anniversary of the Japanese raid on Pearl Harbor.)

*** Memorial Services for Don Sears
Former University of Colorado Law School dean and professor Don Sears passed away Nov. 21. Memorial services will be Sunday, Dec. 16, 2–4 p.m., at the Folsom Field Stadium Club Suites in Boulder. Click here to read his obituary from The Denver Post

*** Health and the Holidays
The bar association staff truly appreciates the thoughtful and generous gifts and goodies we receive from members and vendors during the holiday season. In the true spirit of the season, we’d like to encourage the bar association’s commitment to philanthropy by suggesting donations to a favorite charity in lieu of sending gifts to the Bar offices.

In addition, several staff members at the bar association have formed an informal “wellness committee” to focus on promoting health and wellness to Bar staff and members. Look for healthier meal options at member meetings in 2008. Here’s to a happy and healthy new year!

*** Lost Hearing Aid?
The CBA has had a hearing aid that no one has claimed for several months. To claim it, call (303) 860-1115.

*** 2007 Appellate Practice: Better Writing, Briefing and Argument
This program brings you real-world guidance on appeals from the distinguished Judge John R. Webb, of the Colorado Court of Appeals. This CBA–CLE program, Dec. 12, 9 a.m.–12:45 p.m., provides succinct and practical advice on how to be successful and persuasive in your next appeal.
