Minutes
June 3, 2008

Introductions
Those attending included:  Jim Pinto, Meshach Rhodes, Misae Nishikura, Damian Arguello, Cindy Hyman, Andy McCallin, and Charlie Garcia.

May minutes
The minutes from the May 6, 2008 DILP meeting were approved.

Qwest awards
Cindy reported that Adelita DeHerrera from the CHBA Young Lawyers Division is planning the September 11 reception.  Cindy is publicizing the nominations for the Qwest awards with the Pledge and CCIE.  She asked that members pass the information along to those they know as well.  The committee agreed that our nominations would include Qwest (with Meshach refraining) and Brownstein.  Dean Heizer and  Jim Goh from Holland & Hart were mentioned as  individual nominees.  Cindy will talk with the nominees, gather the information, and convene the awards committee, probably during August.  She intends to use an abbreviated form of the Thomas Sager materials from MCCA.

Mentoring program
Damian reported that DU asked DILP to help recruit mentors.  One question is whether diverse mentors are willing to mentor non-diverse students if there are not enough diverse students.

Rocky Mountain Diversity Legal Career Fair
The committee voted to give $250 to the RMDLCF as a Diversity Mentor sponsorship.

The Pipeline Committee of the Deans’ Diversity Council convened at 4:30.
