2000 Economic Survey

The CBA 2000 Economic Survey is available to all members of the public, including attorneys, on our website at no charge.

The Survey addresses salaries, billing rates and practices, overhead expenses, support staff ratios, marketing, and internet issues.  Information is available regarding solos, partners, associates, paralegals, and support staff.  This survey is currently being updated with an anticipated release of summer 2008, based on 2007 information from CBA member attorneys. 

The American Bar Association has a "Lawyer Demographics" summary posted on their website, and sources for the information include The Lawyer Statistical Report, the 2000 U.S. Census, the Bureau of the Census, and the ABA Section of Legal Education & Admissions to the Bar.  National demographics include:

• Number of Licensed Lawyers
• Gender
• Age
• Race/Ethnicity
• Law Students
• Practice Setting
• Percentage of Private Practitioners
• Law Firm Size
