Weld County Legal Services

Weld County Legal Services, Inc. was incorporated in 1983. Its purposes are to encourage lawyers living and working in Weld County to provide legal services to the poor, and to coordinate and otherwise assist in the providing of such services.

Approximately 100 volunteer attorneys participate in our program; approximately 65% of those attorneys eligible to take cases actually accepted 122 cases in 1997, donating approximately 1300 hours annually to our community. Additionally, about 500 people called for information, and 100 attended our pro se divorce clinics. Weld County judges, legal support staff, court clerks, court interpreters, mental health professionals, and educators participate in our program. Volunteers are members of our board of directors, represent qualified clients in civil cases at no charge, teach pro se divorce clinics, and staff Call-a-Lawyer.
