LAW DAY 2003 - “Independent Courts Protect Our Freedom”

Mark you calendars because Law Day 2003 is right around the corner! The Adams/Broomfield Bar Association will host its annual Law Day Breakfast on Thursday, May 1, 2003, at the Dome on the Adams County Fairgrounds. The festivities will begin at 7:15 a.m. That may be early, but everybody loves this fabulous festivity of fun, food, and fellowship!

Wondering why we celebrate Law Day? President Dwight D. Eisenhower established Law Day in 1958 as a tribute to the principles of freedom, justice, and equality under the law. The Bar Association has sponsored the Law Day Breakfast each May 1^st for more than thirty years. It is our way of paying tribute to the law enforcement personnel and legal professionals of Colorado’s 17^th Judicial District.

This year’s honorary speaker will be Kathryn Wells, M.D., member of the Kempe Child Protection Team at Children’s Hospital, and co-founder of Colorado’s Alliance for Drug Endangered Children. Tables at the Law Day Breakfast will be decorated with centerpieces that will be donated to the Kempe Children’s Center.
