Judge Dianna Marquez Appointed to the Bench
The Adams/Broomfield Bar Association would like to congratulate Adams County Court Judge Dianna Marquez on her appointment to the bench. Judge Marquez is currently presiding over Division 5 of the Adams County Court, which covers felony Preliminary Hearings. Judge Marquez is no stranger to working in the judicial system as she started as a clerk in Jefferson County in 1981. She came to Adams County and worked for the Public Defenders Office as an eligibility investigator. Several years later Judge Marquez joined the probation department where she was an alcohol evaluator in Adams and later in Weld County. In 1992, Judge Marquez started law school at the University of Colorado where she obtained her Juris Doctor in 1995. During her time in law school, Judge Marquez clerked for the Colorado Supreme Court. After law school, Judge Marquez joined a civil litigation firm, then after two years, she found herself back in Adams County when she joined the District Attorney’s office. Judge Marquez remained at the District Attorney’s office until her appointment as a Magistrate in Adams County in 2001. She remained a Magistrate until her appointment to the County Court bench.
On a personal note, Judge Marquez has been married to husband, Anthony, for seventeen years, has one daughter, Samantha, a junior in high school. When Judge Marquez finds time in her busy schedule she enjoys playing racket ball and chess and also enjoys running.
