OCR’S MISSION

OCR’S MISSION

The mission of the Office of the Child’s Representative is to provide Colorado’s children involved in the court system with competent and effective legal representation serving the children and is accountable to the state of Colorado. The OCR is committed to ensuring these children receive the best legal services available.

The statute creating the OCR contains comprehensive statewide mandates for the OCR designed to ensure enhanced legal representation for children. The office’s central mandate is to improve the provision of services provided by GALs, child representatives and attorney special advocates. Mandates for the OCR include administration, oversight, and training provisions related to attorney services.
