Scanners

We're often asked which scanner is "the best," and our answer is, "it depends."  The point is, there is no one scanner that is perfect for every law office.  The Law Practice Management Department uses a Visioneer 9650 USB.  We're happy with it, although we had some sheet feeding issues at the beginning which required shutting down and restarting your PC, which can be really annoying.  Click here to get more info on our scanner. 

There is a scanner that is recommended by several CBA members who are famous for their paperless offices.  All of them are litigators.  The scanner is a Fujitsu 15C.  It seems to have everything you could ever want.  Click here to get more info on the scanner. 

Even if you choose a scanner that has been highly recommended by someone, it doesn't mean that that particular scanner will work flawlessly by you.  Setting it up is critical, and if you are having problems getting it to work, it may be related to your individual configuration and the software you have installed.  If you're having problems, it may be a good idea to bring in a technology expert to troubleshoot it for you.
