2007 Pro Bono Paralegal of the Year Award

The CBA Paralegal Committee is honored this year to host the 2007 Pro Bono Paralegal of the Year Award Luncheon, to be held on Thursday, September 27, 2007, at 11:45 a.m., at Maggiano's Little Italy in the Denver Pavilions.  This award was started by the Rocky Mountain Paralegal Association and honors paralegals who provide pro bono services to the Colorado legal community.

The CBA Paralegal Committee encourages all paralegals to volunteer to assist pro bono and community service organizations and would like to recognize paralegals who have given of their time and talents in 2006-2007 to assist others. 

You will find Nomination Criteria for the Pro Bono Paralegal Award to the left, as well as the Award Nomination Form.  The Nomination Form is a pdf file and requires Adobe Reader to view and print.  If you do not have Adobe Reader, you can download it for free at www.adobe.com. 

Notably, the Pro Bono Paralegal of the Year Award will be given to the paralegal whose efforts best exhibit a commitment to pro bono activities.  The recipient of the award will be presented with an engraved plaque commemorating his/her accomplishments, and a $1,000 donation will be made to the recipient's pro bono organization of choice.  The CBA also maintains a plaque which identifies each recipient and the recipient's employer. 

In addition to the individuals nominated for the award, the CBA Paralegal Committee would like to recognize paralegals who have assisted on pro bono matters and/or volunteered to assist community service-related organizations outside of the legal community which may not be eligible for the pro bono award.  You are encouraged to submit the names of paralegals whom you know have volunteered and the organization(s) they assisted.  We commend RMPA, CAPPLA, and all other professional paralegal associations that encourage their members to volunteer to assist others.  We have provided a Volunteer Recognition Form for your convenience, and it can also be found to the left.  Volunteers will be recognized at the Award Luncheon on September 27, 2007. 

Please review the Nomination Criteria, Award Nomination Form, and Volunteer Recognition Form.  Should you believe a paralegal is deserving of recognition, please submit the appropriate form.
