Stephen J. Roy photographed the young barn owls in June 2008. The “doorway” in which the owls appear is located adjacent to Roys’ property east of Fort Collins. The owls apparently have been using the location as a nesting site since at least the 1950s. Roy used a Kodak digital camera, 5.0 megapixels, 10x zoom. Roy has been the Fort Collins City Attorney since 1988.
