Access to Justice
Colorado Access to Justice Commission Formed
In an effort to make equal justice under the law a reality in Colorado, the Colorado Supreme Court and the Colorado Bar Association, in cooperation with other groups, have created the Colorado Access to Justice Commission ("Commission"). The Commission will address issues that affect meaningful access to the courts, such as low-income, lack of language skills or education, location, nationality, legal status, physical or mental impairments, and other factors.
The Commission conducted its first meeting in January and further meetings will be held throughout the year. Suggestions for topics or issues to be addressed at future meetings, as well as comments, may be sent for consideration to: Colorado Access to Justice Commission, c/o Jo Ann Viola Salazar, Colorado Bar Association, 1900 Grant St., Ste. 900, Denver CO 80203.
