"Practical Aspects of Practice for Young Lawyers
and Hot Topics in the Law"
Friday, November 16, 9:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.

This is a fast-paced and affordable conference that has been approved for 7 general and 1.2 ethics CLE credits. It is prepared by young lawyers, includes topics of interest for young lawyers, and is presented by young lawyers.

This full-day program will cover client communication; improving legal writing and getting published; preserving appellate issues that arise before, during, and after trial; appellate basics; mistakes young lawyers make; tips from a panel of clerks on good and bad courtroom practices; and avoiding malpractice in litigation and transactional work. Content-specific presentations on immigration law and campaign finance law will be featured, and there will be special presentations on the Colorado Lawyers Assistant Program (COLAP) and profiles in courage.

Lawyers of all experience levels and law students are invited to join the CBA YLD at the University of Denver Sturm College of Law on Friday, November 16. The program runs from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Cost, which includes lunch and materials, is $15 for law students, $30 for CBA members, and $45 for nonmembers, and is due at registration.
