Annual Ethics Update and Considerations and Potential Pitfalls of Practicing in Denver Courts
Take advantage of this cost-efficient and timely opportunity to earn a late year ethics credit while also gaining practical tips for effectively and ethically litigating cases in Denver courts. This annual update, which is now in its 7th year, will be led by Denver District Court Judge Hon. Adam J. Espinosa and Justin (J.P.) Moore, Esq., who is an Assistant Regulation Counsel in the Colorado Supreme Court Office of Attorney Regulation Counsel. Among other topics, Judge Espinosa and J.P. will provide an update on ethics issues related to Colo. RPC 1.5 (the amendments to the rule and the new flat fee rules), Colo. RPC 3.8 (which is a special rule for prosecutors) and the comments to that rule that were amended this year, and a few recent cases and ethics opinions related to handling of money. This presentation, like all of the Courtroom Chats, will occur in a causal “roundtable” format in which attendees are encouraged to ask questions and participate in a dialogue with the presenters.
