Course Description:
A project of the Native American Rights Fund in Boulder, assisting Native American Tribal courts in recovering and implementing their traditions for dispute resolution in the modern world. These methods are frequently used as the preferred approach for child welfare, juvenile offenders, and elder issues in Native American communities.  
 
 
About the Speaker:
Brett Lee Shelton is a member of the Oglala Sioux Tribe from the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota. He works as Staff Attorney for the Native American Rights Fund in Boulder, and is responsible for the Indigenous Peacemaking Initiative or IPI, the subject of today’s discussion. The main goal of the IPI is to assist Native American Tribal courts in recovering and implementing their traditions for dispute resolution in the modern world.
