"Mediation Advocacy: Suggestions for Attorney Preparation"

This program will provide practical tips on mediation advocacy skills, including attorney and client preparation, drafting pre-mediation statements, effective mediation opening statements, the benefits of the joint session, presentation of evidence, use of non-party witnesses, use of caucus, working with the mediator to generate movement, overcoming impasse, and drafting settlement agreements. The program will also provide an overview of ethical issues to consider when representing clients in a mediation setting.
