Join the CBA Insurance Committee for its annual meeting to learn about the top 10 insurance decisions of 2020. Two incredibly talented and experienced attorneys will give you their perspectives of how these decisions may impact your practice: Mr. Jon Sands and Mr. Michael Rosenberg. The Insurance Committee will conduct its annual meeting following the CLE, so stick around to vote for new executive members and to hear other updates regarding the committee. We also welcome you to enjoy some virtual social time following the Committee's business matters.

| Speakers: Jon F. Sands is a Shareholder of Sweetbaum Sands Anderson PC. Mr. Sands has been licensed in Colorado since 1980. He practices in the area of civil litigation including trials, appeals and arbitrations. His particular areas of emphasis include insurance coverage, bad faith defense, insurance defense, title insurance and real estate, and general commercial litigation. Mr. Sands is an AV Preeminent (5.0 out of 5) rated lawyer by Martindale Hubbell. He has been lead trial counsel in numerous jury and bench trials throughout the state of Colorado, and has an extensive appellate practice. Mr. Sands teaches courses on insurance law and trial presentation, and is a frequent lecturer for continuing education courses involving insurance bad faith, insurance coverage, real estate litigation and general litigation. Mr. Sands has been selected for inclusion in Super Lawyers by Law and Politics Magazine for every year since its inception in 2006, reflecting a high-degree of peer recognition and professional achievement. Mr. Sands has also been selected for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America® 2013-2021 in the fields of Insurance Law and Commercial Litigation. He was selected as Lawyer of the Year for insurance practice in 2018, 2020 and 2021.
He is a Fellow in the American College of Trial Lawyers and an Associate member of American Board of Trial Advocates.
Michael J. Rosenberg is a Denver personal injury attorney specializing in the areas of insurance recovery, insurance bad faith, catastrophic personal injury, and wrongful death. Mr. Rosenberg is a 1996 graduate of the University of Denver College of Law, where he served as the articles editor of the Denver Law Journal, was selected to the American Bar Association Trial Team, and graduated in the top 5 percent of his class. After graduation, Mr. Rosenberg served as law clerk to the Honorable Steven C. Briggs of the Colorado Court of Appeals. Mr. Rosenberg spent the next four years representing insurance companies and their insureds, as well as fidelity and surety companies, in a wide variety of claims, including professional liability, products liability, catastrophic injury, insurance coverage and bad faith. For the past twenty years, Mr. Rosenberg has dedicated the bulk of his practice to representing insurance policyholders and tort victims.
Through his previous experience counseling insurance companies and defending them in litigation, both locally and abroad, Mr. Rosenberg has developed an understanding and knowledge of the insurance industry in general, and of the inner workings of numerous insurance companies in particular. This knowledge has proven invaluable in Mr. Rosenberg's insurance recovery and personal injury practice, allowing him to obtain seven and eight-figure recoveries on behalf of his clients in cases where, prior to litigation, the insurance companies perceived little or no exposure. Mr. Rosenberg carries Martindale-Hubbell's highest peer rating, AV. Mr. Rosenberg is a past President of the Colorado Trial Lawyers Association and has served on the Board of Directors of the organization since 2009. He has also served on the Board of Governors of the Colorado Bar Association. Mr. Rosenberg has been recognized as a “Top 100” attorney in Colorado Super Lawyers for many years, and was recently named by Best Lawyers in America as the “2019 Lawyer of the Year” in the area of insurance litigation.
