Program Description: Many young lawyers struggle with the intense demands of having a family and raising children, while at the same time maintaining a busy legal practice. There is often conflict between the two, which can lead to anxiety, stress, unhealthy habits, and the neglect of either, or both, obligations. This program will address the oft-neglected topic of how young lawyers who are also parents can achieve the optimal balance between their busy professional lives and their families. The program will also touch on the relevant Colorado ethical rules and potential pitfalls for the young lawyer-parent. The panel of three young, successful lawyers with young children will share their experiences, knowledge, tips, and advice on how to strike this balance, and--perhaps most importantly--will serve as examples of young lawyer-parents who do it all and do it well.
