As the U.S. healthcare delivery system continues to evolve to meet growing patient demand, the use of technology in our system is increasing rapidly. The appropriate use of technology, including telemedicine, will present risks and rewards that require constant monitoring and evaluation. Ultimately, physicians and patients will decide the extent of telemedicine utilization and its effectiveness. This presentation will focus on the trends in telemedicine implementation, the demonstrated outcomes of telemedicine between physicians and patients, and factors to consider when evaluating risk versus reward.

Speaker:
Larry Gray, Pinnacle Healthcare Consulting- Larry has an extensive career in healthcare – from launching a start-up healthcare organization to leading a $2 billion revenue public company. His proven track record of designing strategic plans and implementing those plans has consistently increased value for shareholders, partners, colleagues and clients. Larry began his career managing hospitals and medical centers, and then moved into the rapidly expanding health plan market. He was the President and Chief Executive Officer of a southern California based health plan that grew in five years from $4 million to over $300 million in revenue. As President and Chief Executive Officer, he launched a two-state health plan that thrived in smaller markets and was sold to a public company. Larry then became President and Chief Executive Officer of a $2 billion revenue public health plan; increasing the stock price by 15% in less than two years. As Chief Operating Officer, Larry managed a national network of oncology practices; implementing operating plans that achieved 30% annual growth and an 11% margin improvement. Larry has also provided interim leadership and successfully improved provider organizations, technology companies, healthcare service organizations, and a national consulting group. Larry has a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Boston University and a Bachelor’s degree in Business and Management from the University of Maryland.
