Program Description
 
Mr. Schupbach will present an update on legislation that was considered in the 2016 Legislative session. The presentation will focus on the bills that affect the practice of law, or that had a substantial impact on the session.  His presentation will discuss important topics from the 2016 Legislative Session, the nature of the Bar’s relationship with legislators and our working relationship with the Branch and the Executive agencies as well.  Mr. Schupbach will present on a number of bills and the impact they have on solo/small firm lawyers and their clients.
 
This session is aimed at practitioners who are interested in learning how to assist with future proposed legislation, and the skills necessary for affecting the legislature and pending legislation.

Meet Your Presenter
 
Jeremy Schupbach is the Director of Legislative Relations for the Colorado Bar Association. He came to the CBA with over 11 years of experience at the capitol, and working with state agencies and public stakeholders. Prior to the CBA, he directed the legislative strategy and policy development for a statewide association of Medicaid providers working on issues from healthcare, employment, regulation and enforcement and public budgeting. Jeremy represented over 40 agencies with collective budgets over $380 million. Jeremy is married to Alaina with 2 children Eddie (7) and Josie (2). He is originally from central Illinois and enjoys cycling, reading and cooking in his free time.
