This program focuses on the income tax issues involved in transferring equity interests in closely held, family businesses from one generation to the next. Issues discussed include corporate and partnership equity-based compensation, income tax issues associated with gifting stock and partnership interests, corporate and partnership divisions and issues related to direct and indirect sales of companies between family members.

 

 

 

SPEAKER:

Justin Mills- Justin Mills is a shareholder in the law firm of Robinson, Diss and Clowdus, P.C. in Denver, Colorado. He advises business owners and entities on a wide range of prospective corporate and other business tax planning, executive compensation, retirement plan and healthcare joint venture matters. He earned his J.D. from Washington University in St. Louis and his LLM in taxation from the University of Denver. Mr. Mills currently serves on the executive council of the Colorado Bar Association Tax Section and editor of its newsletter. He has lectured on pass thru entities and retirement plan investments in closely held businesses.
