Mind Matters: Understanding the Differences Between Neuropsychological and Capacity Evaluations for Probate and Estate Planning Attorneys

 

 

In this presentation, Dr. Sheri Gibson, Licensed Psychologist specializing in geropsychology, will untangle the differences between neuropsychological evaluations and capacity evaluations to inform an appropriate referral. Participants will learn about the different functions of those evaluations as well as the process for assessing testamentary capacity and undue influence in retrospective evaluations. Finally, Dr. Gibson will discuss helpful practice points to maximize an attorney’s use of an expert in guardianship/conservatorship and will contest hearings.
