Additional Address
I attended the University of Denver, Lamont school of Music from 1979 - 1984, graduating cum laude, with a Bachelor of Music Performance / Composition Degree, studying primarily in Classical and Jazz genres, with minors in psychology and history. I was also the recipient of the University of Denver Honors Scholarship from1980 to 1984.
At the University of Denver, School of Law, I was able to achieve a graduation level in the top one-third of the Class of 1994. I also was selected to participate in the University of Denver Law Review from 1992 -1994, eventually serving as a General Editor. I was also fortunate enough to have had the opportunity to have my student "Comment" article published in the Spring, 1994 volume, regarding a Colorado Supreme Court decision allowing for the "Public Policy" exception to the common law "at will employment" principles, and allowing "whistleblowers" to sue their employer in state court for wrongful discharge. I also participated in the Student Law Office, as a faculty-mentored student attorney in Criminal Law. I also participated in the Mediation and Arbitration Clinic, being certified to practice as a mediator or arbitrator, and with actual experience in both roles.
I passed the Bar, and was sworn-in, in October, 1994. I then was employed as a Law Clerk to The Honorable, Edwin G. Ruland, on the Colorado Court of Appeals, from September 1, 1994, until August 31, 1995. I then worked on a contract basis, with the Colorado State Public Defenders Office, in 1995 - 1996. After several years of working as an Associate in small firms, I became a Sole Practitioner in October, 1998, and have remained so. I spent 18 years practicing Juvenile Law, and was heavily involved with court appointed work, for 15 of those years, as a Guardian ad litem, and defense counsel for children in Delinquency Court, Dependency and Neglect Court, and Truancy Court. since 2009 - 2010, my practice has evolved into a primarily adult clientele, practicing Criminal Law (felonies and misdemeanors), DUI Defense, serious Traffic Offenses, Parole Violation Hearings, and a portion still devoted to Juvenile Delinquency Defense.
I work with low and moderate income clients to fashion a payment plan that works with their finances, and still fairly compensates me for my time.
