I grew up in Arvada, Colorado, where my dad practiced law. At Burg Simpson, I practice civil litigation, focusing on appeals, business, insurance, and personal injury litigation. Before joining Burg Simpson, I ran my own firm for a few years. I earned a B.A. in History from Temple University (1997), an M.A. in U.S. History from New Mexico State University (2000) and his J.D. at the University of Denver’s Sturm College of Law (2007). I am licensed to practice at all Colorado courts, the U.S. District Court for Colorado, the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court.
When I'm not in the office, I spend time with my family, serve as a Commissioner on Colorado’s Second Judicial District Judicial Performance Commission, Chair the Colorado Trial Lawyers Association’s Amicus Curiae Committee, serves on the Amicus Curiae Committee and Membership Oversight Committees of the American Association for Justice. Each year I organizes a walk team for the Autism Society of Colorado’s Walk with Autism and I regularly volunteer at my daughters’ school.
In March 2015, I was privileged to join others in a 50th anniversary commerative march from Selma to Montgomery. That experience informed and rekindled my goal of using the law to help people overcome the challenges placed on them by others. When people are physically or economically harmed or their rights are impeded by others, and those responsible will not take responsibility for their bad acts, I get to help them hold those bad actors accountable. That's what makes being a lawyer so great.
