Ellen brings over 30 years of experience as an attorney and small business owner to a family law mediation and arbitration practice that facilitates resolution of challenging issues with compassion, empathy, and respect.  Ellen was admitted to the bars of Pennsylvania and the District of Columbia in 1988 and began her legal career in Washington, DC.  She was admitted and continued to practice in Colorado after moving to the Denver area in 1994.  She has practiced solo and in the firm context, as an associate with Morgan Lewis in DC and as counsel with Sherman & Howard.  She took a nine year hiatus from her legal career, during which time she owned and operated a franchised retail entertainment business.

Experience in both the legal and business/customer service worlds has enhanced her practical, direct and creative approach to problem solving.  This approach, together with her work ethic, empathetic nature, attention to detail, and strong communication skills, allows her to work together with parties to craft custom “out of the box” solutions.

Ellen enjoys life in Colorado as a single mom of three young adult humans and two older canine kids.  In her spare time, she works passionately as a board member of a charitable foundation that gives grants to brain tumor patients to help with expenses beyond their means.
