I started my practice out of law school in Colorado Springs, joining the Colorado Springs branch of a major Denver firm that I had clerked for during law school.  While there I practiced in the Construction Law and Banking groups.  Being a smaller branch office of a large firm, I worked on cases outside of my practice group that came our way, incluing family law cases.  It was, for me, the best of both worlds - a small firm environment with the backing, training and access to mentorship from some of the best attorneys in the state.  It was a wonderful way to start my practice of law.

I took fifteen years off during the middle of my career to raise my children.  In 2008, I launched my solo practice, focusing on the areas of practice that I enjoyed the most - real estate, family law, small business counsel and, more recently, mediation.  The time off gave me a perspective on the practice that I don't believe I would have had if I had continued without the break.  I gained the perspective of a stay-at-home mom of a special needs child; an entrepreneur and small business owner during those years away from full time practice. This has helped me to gain an appreciation for the needs of my clients that I never had before, and I came back a better attorney because of it.
