Class Action Subsection
The Class Actions, Derivative Suits, and Mass Torts Subsection of the of the Colorado Bar Association's Litigation Section was formed in early 2008 by a group of about 20 lawyers who practice in the areas of class actions, shareholder derivative suits, mass torts, and other complex representative litigation. The membership has since that time nearly doubled and is still growing. The subsection provides a forum for the education of, and communication among practitioners in these areas and their staff, judges, elected officials, the state bar association, and members of the public.
Membership in the Section includes: 1) A quarterly newsletter containing the latest information on key legislation, highlights and analyses of recent case law, and subsection news; 2) Regular luncheons covering all areas of interest and concern to those involved in class actions, shareholder derivative suits, mass torts, and other related areas and from which luncheon attendees receive valuable CLE credits; 3) Telephone access to the CLE portions of the luncheon for out-of-metro members; 4) other CLE programs on these practice areas; 5) Participation in designing programs and legislation that directly affect your practice; 6) A directory of experts and services of benefit to you and your clients; 7) A network of professionals knowledgeable in all facets of these practice areas and and sharing the same concerns; 8) Significant discounts on legal education programs and materials; and, 9) A mentoring program designed to help solo and small firm practitioners.
Any member of the Colorado Bar Association Litigation Section is also eligible to participate in this subsection.
