Program Description:
Learn from attorneys expert in the emerging technology of Artificial Intelligence! This panel discussion will talk about how to use it in the practice of law, risks you can manage, and why it will not replace legal professionals but actually enhance your practice!
Speaker Bios:
Jackie Benson is a Member in Sherman & Howard’s Business and Real Estate Group. She earned both a JD and MBA from the University of Houston and a B.S in Business Administration from the University of Colorado and is admitted to practice law in Colorado and Texas. Jackie has two decades of experience counseling entrepreneurs, companies, and investors about corporate transactions and contracts, including organization, mergers and acquisitions, state and federal securities law, private equity, venture capital, financing, restructurings, and other corporate compliance issues and commercial agreements.
She has drafted and negotiated complex agreements, advised boards of directors of both public and private companies and prepared private placement documentation for growing companies. Jackie has represented companies before the SEC and PCAOB and has experience with federal securities litigation. She currently serves on Sherman & Howard’s AI Task Force, Corporate Transparency Act Committee and Thought Leadership Committee.
Jackie has also run two businesses, so she is able to bring this practical business experience to the table when advising clients.
Jeff Chen is an experienced product leader working on corporate innovation at Moon Creative Lab, which is Mitsui & Co.'s venture studio with offices in Palo Alto and Tokyo. He currently serves as Senior Product Legal Counsel.
With a background in criminology and law, Jeff has navigated his way into the realm of Product Management, where engineering, design, and business converge to create products that users love. He has spent the majority of his career in zero-to-one environments, contributing to seed, Series A, and enterprise growth-stage companies.
Jeff is an alumnus of the University of Ontario Institute of Technology and holds a J.D. from Hofstra University School of Law.
Anona Striker is pursuing tech law as a first-year law student at the University of Colorado Law School in Boulder. Her specialty is the intersection of business and local community–prior to law school she started her own real estate renovation and property management business spanning three states, and she recently bought a local transportation business in Denver.
In addition, Anona has also been successfully investing in and experimenting with emerging tech for years, focusing on autonomous vehicles, biotech, blockchain, and generative AI. In her spare time she enjoys MMA training, birdwatching, and learning about the quickly-changing world of Artificial Intelligence, which she writes about on her website, lawstriker.com.
Mark Williams has around-the-corner thinking, along with more than 35 years of practice experience enable him to use his energy to change the future for his clients.
He provides guidance to large national and international corporations, regional businesses and entrepreneurial ventures on wide-ranging litigation, general business, and transactional matters.
Mark serves as trial counsel and adviser on large-figure, technology, corporate governance, officer and director liability, business tort, commercial, financial institution, and telecommunications matters. He represents clients in federal and state trial and appellate courts, as well as in arbitrations and mediations. He acts as counsel to clients facing regulatory proceedings before federal, state, and local government agencies. Regarded for his knowledge, skill, and reputation for fairness, he is also frequently selected as an arbitrator in complex cases.
Regarded as a leader and mentor in the field, he has been recognized by Best Lawyers in America as a “Lawyer of the Year” in the areas of Technology Law and Communications Law. He has also been designated as a Master Advocate by the prestigious National Institute for Trial Advocacy (NITA), NITA’s highest designation.
