Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusivity Committee

Mission Statement

The Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusivity Committee (JEDI) is dedicated to promoting full and equal participation in the Trust & Estate and Elder Law Sections of the CBA by all attorneys and law students, including those historically under-represented groups such as racial and ethnic minorities, persons with disabilities, members of the queer community, and women. The JEDI committee is focused on building strong connections within the legal community and promoting cultural competency in our practice through education regarding diverse backgrounds and populations.

Our Work

Each year, the Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusivity Subcommittee hosts two events focusing on law students and attorneys to increase trust and estate diversity. We also encourage members of the trust and estate section to participate in events in the community that promote diversity and inclusion. The Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusivity Subcommittee also collaborates with local minority, LGBT, disability, and professional organizations as well as other sections of the Bar and universities to put on networking events and CLEs that promote an inclusive environment and recognizes the value of diversity.

Meeting Time and Place

The First Wednesday of the month at 11:00am. Hybrid Meeting via Zoom and in person.
